Bohmer Audios journey began about 30 years ago. Our founder, Bernt Böhmer, started working with audio in the 1990s. Bernt wanted to improve the then quite bad sounding CD player. This resulted in Bernt working with digital signal processing. The electronics Bernt invented was later implemented in Forsell CD player - a CD player that several critics meant was the first digital audio gear that could be compared to, and sounded like, analog audio. Ever since then Bernt has continued to develop new techniques and electronics to please the ears of audiophiles worldwide. His passion for natural sound and details is a theme which can be found in all of Bohmer Audios work. Most importantly, the technology of Bohmer Audio and Bernt continously push the audio industry forward by setting new innovative standards. We will continue to do so, and we will not be satisfied until our mission is achieved.

Due to our advanced state-of-the-art technology we are able to reproduce details in the sound sphere which, until now, has not been able to revive. We are talking about spatial information. Spatial information is geographical information about the room in which the audio once was recorded. This information provide our minds with information which in turn helps us to place where the sounds come from. We need the room, the spatial information, to be able to put objects and sounds in relation to each other. Only then we can perceive a true and realistic sound image. This is where our legacy began. Our award-winning and warmly praised acoustic correction technology. The Bohmer Room Correction, through our DSP pre-processor, was appointed “Product of the year 2018” by the reputable magazine The Absolute Sound.

The Room Correction optimizes the acoustics, or the so called audio-reflections, which arises from the room where the loudspeakers are located. Psychoacoustics. The process is made possible through a microphone which records the acoustic defects, and the correction itself is later made through advanced algorithms. The Bohmer Room Correction is available in three versions: as a DSP pre-processor, a development kit, or through licensing.

The Bohmer Room Correction is a speaker-and room-correction system, which operates both in frequency, and predominantly in the time domain. Our technology is able to vastly reduce unwanted sounds who origins from the environment. This, in turn, results in a greatly improved audio image. Due to reduced secondary sounds, the audio becomes significantly clearer and more natural, providing pure music reminding of the original recording.
